Movement Around The Enneagram Symbol
At the heart of the Enneagram is the symbol itself, capturing ancient wisdom and laws of nature. In this session, we explore the enneagram symbol, its inner workings, and the meanings within the symbol. There are three main ways to travel around the symbol from point to point and each has wisdom for us. What happens when you traverse the enneagram circle, inner triangle, and inner hexad?
Enneagram and Internal Family Systems
Each of us is a collection of parts. One part of you wants to go to an event, another stay home. Part of you wants to stand up to a client or boss, but another is afraid of losing the income. Part of you tries to be healthy and another loves cheesecake.
IFS is a therapy that works by treating each part as a separate member of the whole, an Internal Family System you might say. Through a method of working with each part related to a particular behavior or trigger, guide the parts in healing and reassigning roles.
This session explores how this intersects with Enneagram type, including centers of intelligence, core type, wings, arrows, essence, gift, fixation, passion, and type-based perspective/filter.
Neuroscience Behind the Enneagram
Ever wondered what’s happening in the brain causing enneagram type to show up? Where do enneagram types come from and how do they form? What’s really going on when our attention keeps going back to the same place? Watch this recorded Intentional Living Circle event to find out the inner workings of type structure in the brain and how that information can help you relax type patterns and live a more fulfilling life.
Drawing on the work of David Daniels, Dan Siegel and the PDP Group, Sophia explores how subcortical pathways and innate temperament shape enneagram type structure, and how we can work with this knowledge to give ourselves more choices in life.
Emotions as Messengers
Emotions don't just make you feel good or bad. They can be powerful messengers, bringing guidance and resources to help us navigate our lives more wisely. Yet, in our fast-paced and often emotionally disconnected world, we can be overwhelmed by our emotions or sometimes become numb to them. We may try to control, suppress, or avoid them altogether, missing out on the essential guidance they offer.
In this Intentional Living Circle recording, we explored a more intentional way of relating to emotions. Watch to learn how to:
Listen for the message within the emotion.
Gain some space to be with emotions mindfully
Shift from reacting to emotions to receiving and responding with awareness
Whether you tend to be overtaken by emotions or try to avoid them, this session offers practical and compassionate ways to reconnect with the inner guidance your emotions may bring.
